Solua Middleton is the ABC Open producer for the Gold Coast. Solua has worked in the media industry for 15 years before joining ABC Open in 2010. She's been a music reviewer, feature film researcher, journalist and photographer for the Koori Mail Newspaper, and producer and video journalist for NITV News, as well as self-publishing the Gold Coast based Indigenous newspaper, Be Counted. In 2005, Solua won the Henry Mayer Media Prize for a story on child sex abuse. She's most proud of her work on the ABC Open projects, DreamBox - which was a finalist in the 2012 Human Rights Awards, and Aftermath: Stories of Disaster, Resilience and Recovery - winner of 2012 Queensland Clarion Online Journalism Award.
