Peter Fray is the Professor of Journalism Practice at University of Technology Sydney and a 2016 fellow of digital entrepreneurial journalism at City University New York. Over a 30 year career in journalism, he has been the editor or editor-in-chief of the The Sydney Morning Herald, The Sun-Herald, The Canberra Times and The Sunday Age, deputy editor of the The Australian and the founder of fact-checking start-up, PolitiFact Australia. As a reporter, he has covered politics, media, religion, foreign affairs, the arts, environment and agriculture. He has been a board member of Choice and the Australian Science Media Centre, a member of the Australian Press Council, an adjunct professor in media and politics at Sydney University and an industry advisor to UTS and Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation Fray is deeply engaged in finding new business models for journalism and creating new employment opportunities for journalists and journalism graduates.
